Linda Kay Backs

Linda Kay Backs, 55, of New Baden, IL, formerly of New Memphis, IL, born Apr. 12, 1959 in Belleville, IL, died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Belleville, IL.

Linda was a preschool teacher and member of Zion Lutheran Church in Mascoutah, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton R. and Marjorie F. A., nee Engelmann, Backs; and her sister, Peggy Ann Backs.

She is survived by a special friend, Gina Rakers of Indianapolis, IN; aunts and uncles, Bernice Engelmann of Albers, IL, William and Joyce Engelmann of Centralia, IL, Marie Engelmann of Nashville, IL, Doris Backs of Springfield, IL, and Mary Ann and Donald Steinkamp of Belleville, IL; cousins and many friends.

Funeral: A funeral service will be held 7:00 PM Sunday evening, Jan. 4, 2015 Zion Lutheran Church in Mascoutah with Pastor Kirk Clayton, Rev. Darwin Schrader, and Rev. Tim Prince officiating.  A private graveside service will be held Monday, Jan. 5, 2015 in Zion United Church of Christ Cemetery, Addieville, IL.
