Kathleen Marie Schuetz

March 18, 1946 — August 14, 2014

Kathleen “Kathy” Marie Schuetz, nee Zimmermann, 68, of Boise, ID formerly of Mascoutah , IL, passed very peacefully from this life on earth just after a rare and magnificent storm in the wee hours on Thursday morning, August 14, 2014.

Born on March 18, 1946 in Highland, IL to Evangeline, nee Sommers and Clarence Zimmermann, Kathy lived a life of service.  She was a 4-H Leader for 10 years, a homemaker, member of a church choir, Sunday school teacher for 13 years, and served as City Clerk for the City of Mascoutah for 11 years.  She was also a Registered Municipal Clerk (RMC), a Municipal Clerk of Illinois (MCI), a member of the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC), a member of V.F.W. Auxiliary Post 7682, a SWAT (Servants Who Abolish Tasks) team member at Faith Family Church in Shiloh, IL, a member of River City Assembly of God in Boise, ID and a dependable active participant in her Boise community.

After living in the Mascoutah area for nearly 64 years, Kathy moved to Boise, ID to be closer to her daughter.  She very quickly settled into her new home at a Boise retirement center making many friends and spreading that infectious smile.  In her four short years living in Idaho, Kathy seemed to have found a friend at every turn.

Kathy was a deeply dedicated mother, fiercely loyal friend and an extraordinarily kind woman.  She will be missed by more people than she could have ever imagined.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Evangeline “Vangie” nee Sommers,  Zimmermann of Mascoutah, a niece, Crystal Becker of Franklin, KY, a nephew,  Brian Zimmermann of Mascoutah, and a great-nephew, Alex Zimmerman of Nashville, IL.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Schuetz (Brian Babcock) of Meridian, ID; a son, Michael (Trish Ternosky) of Killeen, TX; grandchildren, Cade Babcock and Sofie Schuetz; siblings, James Zimmermann of Mascoutah, IL, Paul (Donna) Zimmermann of Mascoutah, IL, Daniel (Pat) Zimmermann of Belleville, IL, Marian (David) Becker of Franklin, KY, Joseph (Sylvia) Zimmermann of St. Peters, MO; an aunt, Dolores “Dee” Bechtoldt of Mascoutah, IL; six nieces and their spouses, a nephew and his spouse, another nephew; great-nieces and great-nephews; numerous cousins and countless friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Family Church ‘Hope/Heart for the House’ or American Diabetes Association or Breast Cancer Fund.

Visitation: from 9 to 11 AM Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.

Funeral: a memorial service will be held 11 AM Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Moll Funeral Home with Pastor John Temple officiating. Burial of cremains will follow in Holy Childhood Cemetery.
