Delores Ruth Tiedemann, nee Davidson, 86, of Belleville, IL, born May 21, 1928 in Montgomery County, IN died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014 at MarKa Nursing Home, Mascoutah, IL.
Delores graduated from Crawfordsville, IN High School in 1946; attended Purdue University from 1946 to 1948; she graduated from McKendree College in 1962 and taught at the Mascoutah Community High School, retiring in 1987 as a mathematics teacher. She was a sponsor of the National Honors Society; and sponsor of JETS (Junior Engineering Technical Society) at MCHS. Being a lifelong supporter of education, she founded the Kenneth Tiedemann Memorial Scholarship fund at MCHS, contributed to the St. Clair County 4-H Scholarship fund and the Mascoutah Scheve Park Ag building. She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Mascoutah; past president of St. John UCC Church Council; past president of St. John UCC Fireside Club; was past head of UCC Bible school; volunteer for Mascoutah Meals on Wheels Program; read to the blind; past president of PTA Council; and volunteered for NFED.
Delores lived and worked on the Illinois farm and raised four children.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Olivian, nee Paddock, Davidson; and a son, Kenneth Tiedemann.
She is survived by her husband, Charles “Chuck” Tiedemann whom she married in Whitesville, IN on Oct. 23, 1948. three children, Sharon (William) McDowell of Strongsville, OH, C. David (Lisa) Tiedemann of Belleville, IL, and Edward (Deb) Tiedemann of Monticello, IL; seven grandchildren, Erika (Chad) Kemp of Huron, OH, Dr. Mark (Liz) McDowell of Los Angeles, CA, Brad (Helen) McDowell of Chicago, IL, Amanda, nee Tiedemann (Gary) Suomela of Austin, MN, Daniel (Angela) Tiedemann of Belleville, IL, Brent (Cody) Tiedemann of Monticello, IL, and Kevin Tiedemann of Monticello, IL; two great-granddaughters, Elise Tiedemann, and Amelia Ruth Kemp; a brother, Keith (Theresa) Davidson of Crawfordsville, IN; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation: visitation is from 3 to 7 PM Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL and 9 to 10 AM Monday, Aug. 11, 2014 at St. John United Church of Christ in Mascoutah.
Funeral: funeral services will be held 10 AM Monday, Aug. 11, 2014 at St. John United Church of Christ in Mascoutah with Rev. Earl Crecelius officiating. Entombment will be in Valhalla Gardens of Memory Mausoleum in Belleville, IL.
