Daniel F. Voegele, Jr., 21 of Mascoutah, IL, born Mar. 9, 1993 in Belleville, IL, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014 in Engelmann Township, IL as a result of an auto accident.
Dan was a porter for Newbold Toyota in O’Fallon, IL; he formerly worked for
C. F. Voegele Trucking Co., and R. P. Lumber. He was a member of Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah; former MCHS football player; past law enforcement Explorer for the St. Clair County Sheriff Dept.; and former member of the USAF Civil Air Patrol. Dan enjoyed a good joke, making people laugh, and doing things for others.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Cornelius Voegele; maternal grandfather, John Voegtle; and his uncle, Don Voegele.
Surviving are his father and stepmother, Daniel F. (Robin, nee Taylor)
Voegele Sr. of Mascoutah, IL; his mother, Elizabeth A. “Liz”, nee Voegtle, Voegele of Washington, MO; two sisters, Karen Voegele of Mascoutah, IL, and Kelly (Ryan) Suydam of Trenton, IL; two step-brothers, Joe (Shawna) Taylor of Bradenton, FL, and Mike (Jenny) Taylor of Belleville, IL; a step-nephew, Justin Taylor; a paternal grandmother, Florence Voegele of Mascoutah, IL; a maternal grandmother, Louise Voegtle of Belleville, IL; aunts and uncles, Dennis (Jane) Voegele of Columbia, IL, Mary (Ron) Hazen of Nashville, TN, Margie (Kent) Berry of Mascoutah, IL, Keitha Voegele of Mascoutah, IL, Paul (Janet) Voegtle of New Athens, IL, Dede (Paul) Hendricks of Belleville, IL, and John (Jackie) Voegtle of Belleville, IL; best friends and cousins, Chris and Nick Berry; and numerous cousins and other relatives and friends.
In lieu of all other gifts memorials may be made to St. Clair County Law Enforcement Explorers Post 555; or St. Clair County D.A.R.E. Program; or Mascoutah Little Indians Football.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014 at Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.
Funeral: A funeral Mass will be held 10 AM Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014 at Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah, IL with Father Paul Wienhoff officiating. Burial will be in the Holy Childhood Catholic Cemetery, Mascoutah, IL.Visits: 0
