Vernell C. Graul

Vernell C. Graul, nee Reinhardt, 98, of Mascoutah, IL, born Aug. 17, 1915 in Mascoutah, IL, died Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Clinton Manor Living Center in New Baden, IL.

She was a homemaker, a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Mascoutah; St. John UCC Evening Guild; Mascoutah Women of the Moose Chapter 392; and the Red Hat Society.

She is preceded in death by, her parents, Theodore and Minnie, nee Siebenberger, Reinhardt; her husband, Elmer H. Graul whom she married in Mascoutah, IL on Nov. 19, 1933 and who died Apr. 5, 1993; a daughter-in-law, Marjorie Jo Graul; and a son-in-law, Walt Materkowski.

She is survived by two children, Ralph (Ann) Graul of Carterville, IL, and Jeanette Materkowski of New Baden, IL; five grandchildren, Dr. Amanda Jo (Brad) Graul-Conroy of Madison, WI, Jennifer Lee (Ryan) Pullum of Carterville, IL, Tina (Larry) Fortner of Minonk, IL, Erin Bruce (Craig Panzau) of Troy, IL, and Tim (Darci) Materkowski of Trenton, IL; two step-grandchildren, Kara (Steve) Moehn of University City, MO, and Aaron (Hannah) Smith of Nashville, TN; 14 great-grandchildren, Ian and Wyatt Conroy, Madeline Snyder, Mia, Camille, Thomas, and Rylee Pullum, Natalie, Emma, Savannah, and Annabelle Fortner, Bradan and Elise Bruce, and Dalanee Materkowski; three step-great-grandchildren, Sofia and Stella Moehn, and Abraham Smith.

Visitation: visitation is from 4 to 8 PM Sunday, July 27, 2014 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, and 9 to 10 AM Monday, July 28, 2014 at St. John United Church of Christ in Mascoutah. There will be a Moose Ritual 7 PM Sunday evening at the funeral home.

Funeral: funeral services will be held 10 AM Monday, July 28, 2014 at St. John United Church of Christ in Mascoutah with the Rev. Hugh Fitz officiating.  Burial will follow in Mascoutah City Cemetery.
