LaVerne I. Schoenherr, nee Wilke, 73, of Lively Grove, IL, born Oct. 10, 1940 in St. Libory, IL, died Monday, May 26, 2014 at Coulterville Care Center, Coulterville, IL.
She was a homemaker, a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Lively Grove, IL and the American Legion Auxiliary, St Libory, IL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome B. Schoenherr whom she married in Lively Grove, IL on Nov. 28, 1957 and who died Jan. 24, 2006, her parents, Gerhard and Martha, nee Sandheinrich, Wilke, a sister, Lorraine Weber, a brother, Roman (Doris) Wilke and two brothers-in-law, Clarence Sandheinrich and Norbert Schoenherr.
Surviving are her children, Janice (Bubber) Johnson of St. Libory, IL, Butch (Camille) Schoenherr, Kenny (Debbie) Schoenherr, both of Lively Grove, IL and Angie (Kevin) Blockyou of Mascoutah, IL; five grandchildren, Kyle (Jayme) Schoenherr, Courtney (fiancé Carie Gallagher) Blockyou, Bailey Blockyou, Dylan and Kaelyn Schoenherr; two great-grandchildren, Carter and Ty Schoenherr; a brother, Norman (Dorothy) Wilke of Shiloh, IL; a brother-in-law, Vernon (Marilyn) Weber; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Sandheinrich and Joyce Schoenherr; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to St. Anthony’s Cemetery Fund.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2014 and from 9:30 to 11 AM Thursday, May 29 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Lively Grove, IL. A prayer service will be held 4 PM Wednesday at the church.
Funeral: A funeral Mass will be held 11 AM Thursday, May 29, 2014 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Lively Grove, IL with Father Dennis Voss and Deacon Andrew Lintker officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery, Lively Grove, IL.
