Frances A. Lautenschlaeger, nee Lanter, 92, of Okawville, IL formerly of Mascoutah, IL, born in Mascoutah Township, IL died Monday, May 19, 2014 at her residence.
Frances was a homemaker; a member of St. Barbara Catholic Church, Okawville, IL; St. Barbara Altar Sodality; American Legion Auxiliary, Mascoutah, IL; VFW Auxiliary Post 7983, Trenton, IL; and the DAV Auxiliary, Centralia, IL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn C. Lautenschlaeger whom she married at St. Pius Church in St. Louis, MO on Nov. 18, 1947 and who died Oct. 14, 2009; her parents, George and Cecilia, nee Schaeffer, Lanter; three sisters, Florence Ryan, Mildred Haas, and Gertrude Juba; two brothers, George and Norman Lanter; two sisters-in-law, Florence and Mary Lou Lanter.
She is survived by her children, Mark (Cheryl) Lautenschlaeger, Mary (Dennis) Strackeljahn, and Ann (Jerry) Huckins; eight grandchildren, Eric (Anna) Strackeljahn, Karen and Adam Strackeljahn, Julie (Shawn) Clubb, Linda (Josh) Juenger, Amanda (Phillip) Schuette, Martin (Rachel) Lautenschlaeger, and Rhonda (Michael) Diekemper; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Firmin Lanter; a sister, Cecilia (Floyd) Lautenschlaeger; a brother-in-law, Lambert Juba; and sister-in-law, Katherine Lanter; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorials may be made to St. Barbara Catholic Church, Okawville, IL, or Holy Childhood Memorial Improvement Fund.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM Thursday, May 22, 2014 and from 8:30 to 9:15 AM Friday, May 23, 2014 at the Moll Funeral Home, Mascoutah, IL. A prayer service will be held 5:30 PM Thursday, and a VFW Auxiliary service will be held 7:30 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
Funeral: A funeral Mass will be held 10 AM Friday, May 23, 2014 at St. Barbara’s Catholic Church in Okawville, IL with Father Steven Poole officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery, New Memphis, IL.
