Marcella P. Heyde

Marcella P. Heyde, nee Legendre, 104, of Mascoutah, IL formerly of New Baden, IL, born Feb. 14, 1910 in New Athens, IL, died Monday, Apr. 21, 2014 at Silver Creek Assisted Living in Mascoutah, IL.

Marcella was a homemaker; member of Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah, HCCCW; former member of St. George Catholic Church in New Baden, IL; and at one time she was very active in the Senior Citizens and the Kitchen Band.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Phillipina, nee Pfister, Legendre; her husband, Roland H. Heyde whom she married in New Athens, IL on Jan. 18, 1932 and who died in Dec. 1981; two brothers, Loraine “Larry”, and Theodore Legendre; and a sister, Elvira McLaughlin.

She is survived by three children, Ronald (Helen) Heyde of Mascoutah, IL, Mary Ann (Melvin) Evans of Mascoutah, IL, and Louise Richardson of Sheboygan Falls, WI; seven grandchildren, Timothy (Theresa) Heyde, Steven (Angela) Heyde, Cindy Evans Hilkey, Michael (Sue) Evans, Heidi (Jeremy) Dickey, Eric (Dawn) Richardson, and Mark Richardson; 11 great-grandchildren; eight great great-grandchldren; nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Family Hospice of Belleville, or to the Holy Childhood Memorial Improvement Fund.

Visitation: friends may call from 4 to 8 PM Friday, Apr. 25, 2014 and from 8:45 to 9:30 AM Saturday, Apr. 26, 2014 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.

Funeral: a funeral Mass will be held 10 AM Saturday, Apr. 26, 2014 at Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah with Father Eugene Neff officiating. Burial will be in Mascoutah City Cemetery, Mascoutah, IL.
