Dorothy Marie Schubert

Dorothy Marie Schubert, nee Briscoe, 89, of Bridge City, TX, born December 27, 1924 in Lebanon, IL, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2014.

Dorothy was a sweet and gentle soul with a great sense of humor and liked to tease and play jokes on everyone. She was an excellent speller, great with crossword puzzles and enjoyed playing scrabble. Dorothy enjoyed cooking and baking cobbler and loved her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Ernest and Maude Elva, nee Walker, Briscoe; husbands, William Coleman and Robert Schubert; brother, Charles Briscoe, and sisters, Mabel Guttersohn, Inez Cobb, Calista Opal Stovall and Bernice Johnson.

She is survived by her sons, Jesse (Sunoki) Coleman, Harold (Margo) Coleman, Ronald (Renee) Coleman, James (Ann) Coleman; daughter, Cheri (Steve) Obernuefemann; and step-daughter, Evelyn (Dennis) Frerking; 23 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held in Port Arthur, TX. Graveside services will be held 10 AM Friday, April 11, 2014 at Mascoutah City Cemetery in Mascoutah, IL with Pastor Larry Blake officiating.
