Eleanor F. “Ellie” Sihrer, 85, of Mascoutah, IL, born Oct. 24, 1928 in London, England, died Wednesday, Mar. 5, 2014 at her residence.
Ellie was a homemaker; a member of Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah; HCCCW; a volunteer for American Red Cross at Scott AFB; and she delivered for Meals on Wheels in Mascoutah.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Sihrer whom she married in London, England on Apr. 22, 1951 and who died July 28, 1984; her parents, James Sydney and Helena, nee Heath, Burrows; and a son, Gary Sihrer.
She is survived by four children, Wayne Sihrer of San Antonio, TX, Dale Steven (fiancé Kathleen Herrick) Sihrer of Fredericksburg, VA, Lynne Marie (friend Jack) Sihrer of Austin, TX, and Lori Anne (Andy) Thompson of Ouray, CO; a daughter-in-law, Jodi Sihrer of Pekin, IL; seven grandchildren, Eric and Sara Sihrer, Kayla (Phillip) Crow, Jason (Jennifer) Sihrer, Andrew Sihrer, Steven and Merianne Sihrer; two great-granddaughters, Claire and Cassandra Sihrer; and a brother, James (Kathy) Burrows of London, England.
Memorials may be made to Holy Childhood Memorial Improvement Fund.
Visitation: visitation is from 3 to 6 PM Sunday, Mar. 9, 2014 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.
Funeral: a funeral Mass will be held 11 AM Monday, Mar. 10, 2014 at the Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah with Father Dennis Voss officiating. Burial will follow in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
