Major Charles J. Ballot, Jr. USAF, ret., 83, of Mascoutah, IL, born April 11, 1930 in New Orleans, LA, died Monday, February 24, 2014. .
Charles was a retired U. S. Air Force navigator and also retired vice president in charge of auditing at Magna Group. He was a U. S. Navy and Air Force Korean Conflict and Japanese Occupation Forces veteran. He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Mascoutah, Douglas Lodge 361 AF & AM, Mascoutah, Ainad Temple; V.F.W. Post 7682, Mascoutah, American Legion Post 292, Mascoutah, former member of the Belleville Philharmonic board of directors and former member and treasurer of the St. Clair County Genealogical Society.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles J. and Cecile C., nee Cousin, Ballot, Sr., a son-in-law, Steven P. Lee, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Surviving are his wife, Pearl M., nee Graul, Ballot whom he married in Austin, TX on Aug. 13, 1955, four children, David A. (Elizabeth H.) Ballot, Sr. of Dares Beach, MD, Steven A. (Donita Myers) Ballot of St. Louis, MO, Bryan A. (Charles Dahl) Ballot of Clear Water, FL, Deborah L. Lee of Mascoutah, IL; nine grandchildren, Denise A. (John) Christensen, David A. (Jessica) Ballot, Jr., Chelsey Ballot, Ashley Ballot, Emily J. Horowitz, Allen C. Horowitz, James K. Lee II, Joseph R. Ballot, Everett B. Ballot; three great grandchildren, Charles A. Ballot, Oliver R. Ballot and Jacob L. Christensen; a sister, Lorraine B. Dabney of Land-O-Lakes, FL; also survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation: Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014 at Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL and from 9 to 10 AM Friday, Feb. 28 at St. John United Church of Christ in Mascoutah, IL. A Masonic service will be held 7 PM Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Funeral: A funeral service will be held 10 AM Friday, Feb. 28, 2014 at St. John United Church of Christ in Mascoutah, IL with the Rev. Hugh Fitz officiating. Burial will be in Mascoutah City Cemetery, Mascoutah, IL.
