Vincent P. "Vince" Wilhelm

Vincent P. Wilhelm, 85, of Mascoutah, IL, born Feb. 16, 1928 in Mascoutah, IL, died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014 at his residence.

Vince was a retired farmer and was also retired from Weyerhauser in Belleville after working there for 29 years. He was a member of Holy Childhood Catholic Church, Mascoutah; Knights of Columbus Council #4380; St. Clair County Farm Bureau; Mascoutah Horseshoe League; Weyerhauser Breakfast Group; Meals on Wheels volunteer; and a U. S. Army Korean War veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar J. and Ottilia, nee Lanter, Wilhelm; two brothers, George (Frances) Wilhelm and Aloys “Brother Paul” Wilhelm; three nephews, Jim Wilhelm, and David and Jon Riassetto.

He is survived by a sister, Marie Wilhelm of Mascoutah, IL; four brothers, Eugene (Rita) Wilhelm of Lebanon, IL, Larry (Dolores) Wilhelm of Mascoutah, IL, Art (Clara Mae) Wilhelm of Mascoutah, IL, and Father Paul Wilhelm OMI of Brownsville, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews, God children, cousins and many friends.

In lieu of all other gifts, memorials may be made to Holy Childhood Memorial Improvement Fund; Hospice of Southern Illinois, Inc.; or Father Paul’s Mission.

Visitation: visitation is from 4 to 8 PM Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL. A recitation of the rosary will be held at 6 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.


Funeral: a funeral Mass will be held 10 AM Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014 at the Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah with Father Paul Wilhelm OMI officiating. Burial will be in Holy Childhood Catholic Cemetery, Mascoutah, IL.
