Pauline Elsie Sunderman

Pauline Elsie Sunderman, nee Koch, 93, of Mascoutah, IL, born Dec. 3, 1920 in New Hanover, IL, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Belleville, IL.

Mrs. Sunderman was a homemaker, member of St. John United Church of Christ in Mascoutah; Shiloh Valley Grange; Mascoutah VFW Ladies Auxiliary; St. Clair County Farm Bureau; and Golden Age and Booster Club of S.A.V.E..

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Mary, nee Meyer, Koch; her husband, Herman H. Sunderman whom she married in New Hanover, IL on May 6, 1945 and who died Feb. 24, 1989; four sisters, Mable, Olinda, Alfreda, and Clara; and two brothers, Henry, and Louis.

She is survived by five children, Judy Forbes and friend Bob Korves of Waterloo, IL, Dolores (Thomas) McConnell of Fairview Heights, IL, Roger (Debbie) Sunderman of Mascoutah, IL, Joyce (Mark) Wilhelm of Belleville, IL, and Dennis Sunderman of Belleville, IL; four granddaughters, Corie (Mike) McKean of Sunset Hills, MO, Erica (Steve) Filla of Mascoutah, IL, Susan and Sarah Sunderman of Mascoutah, IL; six great-grandchildren, Shannon, Matthew, and Natalie McKean, and Victoria, Constance, and E. J. Hodge; a brother-in-law, Vernon Sunderman of California; nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to St. John United Church of Christ; or to S.A.V.E..

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL, and from 9 to 10 AM Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013 at St. John United Church of Christ in Mascoutah, IL.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013 at St. John United Church of Christ in Mascoutah, IL, with the Rev. Hugh Fitz officiating. Burial will be in Mascoutah City Cemetery, Mascoutah, IL
