Clara J Luechtefeld

Clara J. Luechtefeld, nee Leadendecker, 95 of Mascoutah, IL born April 28, 1918 in Oakdale, IL died Monday, Nov. 11, 2013 at MarKa Nursing Home, Mascoutah, IL.


Clara was a retired seamstress from the former Martha Manning Dress Factory in Mascoutah and a member of Holy Childhood Catholic Church, Mascoutah, IL.


She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Augusta, nee Dintelman, Leadendecker, her husband, Aloys “Red” Luechtefeld whom she married in St. Louis, MO on May 1, 1941 and who died Jan. 15, 1987, a brother, John Leadendecker and three sisters, Mildred Loehr, Erma Sommers and Annabelle Leadendecker.


She is survived by three sons, Dan (Sandra) Luechtefeld of Fountain Hills, AZ, Kenny Luechtefeld and friend Cheryl Renth of Lenzburg, IL, Gary (Jeanne) Luechtefeld of Fairview Heights, IL; a daughter, Geri (Jerry) Gegelman of Fairview Heights, IL; eight grandchildren, Jeff, Sarah, Emily, Nicholas, Christopher and Timothy Luechtefeld, Doug Gegelman, Tara (Tom) Weilmuenster, four great grandchildren, Haley and Griffin Gegelman and Emma and Claire Weilmuenster; three sisters, Genevieve Aholt of Okawville, IL, Lorine Schuette of St. Libory, IL and Frances Buescher of Belleville, IL; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.


Clara’s family would like to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to the staff of MarKa Nursing Home.

In lieu of all other gifts memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, Inc. or Mascoutah Senior Service Program, Meals on Wheels.


Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM Thursday Nov. 14, 2013 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL. A prayer service will be held 4 PM Nov. 14 at the funeral home.


Funeral: A funeral mass will be held 10 AM Friday Nov. 15, 2013 at Holy Childhood Catholic Church with Rev. Dennis Voss officiating. Burial will be in Holy Childhood Catholic Cemetery in Mascoutah, IL.
