Kevin Thomas Kruse, 59, of Mascoutah, IL, born Oct. 13, 1953 passed away early in the morning on Oct. 3, 2013 surrounded by his loving family after one year of battling cancer. He was the youngest of four children.
Kevin was a farmer and electrician. He graduated from Mascoutah High School in 1972; he was a member of the IBEW Local 309; his community service included construction of the Mascoutah Food Pantry and Habitat for Humanity.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy E. Kruse, his aunt, Mildred Thomas and a cousin, David Thomas.
He is survived by his sons, Brandon (Becky) Kruse of New Haven, CT, Matthew (Jody) Kruse of Glendale, MO, Ryan (Catherine) Kruse of Mascoutah, IL, Eric Kruse of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren, Melanie, Ashton and Ayden Kruse; mother, Lucille E., nee Thomas, Kruse; a brother, Kenneth (Peggy) Kruse of Mascoutah, IL; sisters, Carolyn Kruse of Alton, IL, Kathy (Dean) Floyd of New Memphis, IL; nieces, Jesse (Brendan) Riley and Anna (Kyle) Wolfe; aunts, Leontine Kruse, Gene Thomas; an uncle, Harold Thomas; a cousin, John (Linda) Thomas and cousin and best friend, Susan Finkelman.

Visitation: Friends may call from 9 to 11:30 AM Monday, Oct. 7, 2013 at Bethel United Methodist Church, Mascoutah, IL.
Funeral: A memorial service will be held 11:30 AM Monday, Oct. 7 2013 at Bethel United Methodist Church with Pastor Jason Woolever officiating. Private family burial will be in Mascoutah City Cemetery, Mascoutah, IL.
