Dolores Armstrong

September 20, 1935 — June 19, 2013

Dolores “Dee” Carter Armstrong, of Belleville, born Sept. 20, 1935, passed peacefully on June 19, 2013, at the age of 77, following a fearless battle with lung cancer.


“Dee Dee,” as she was known to friends and grandchildren, was a multi-talented lady. She painted oil portraits of family members and friends. She studied horticulture at SWIC. An accomplished photographer, she traveled all over Europe, to the Caribbean, Mexico and Hawaii, with her husband, doing travel photography for their audiovisual company. She became an antiques dealer in the late 1980s and became an expert in vintage and costume jewelry. In addition, Dolores did voice-over work for radio commercials and corporate presentations.


She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Robert, daughters Christie (Tim) Armstrong-Kwock, Jana (Jim) Armstrong Moll, Jennifer Armstrong, and son Jon “Monty” Armstrong, as well as six grandchildren: Jacki Moll, Katie (Matthew) Kwock McArthur, Julie Armstrong, Jacob Moll, Jonathan Kwock, and Jaden Armstrong.


Memorials may be made to the family’s choice.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 7 PM Sunday, June 23, 2013 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.


Funeral: Graveside services will be held 2 PM Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Pleasant Grove Memorial Park in Murphysboro, IL.
