Mary Jane Siebe, nee Schwalb, 93, of Mascoutah, IL, born Jan. 21, 1920 in Freeburg, IL, died Monday, May 6, 2013 at Denton Regional Medical Center, Denton, TX.
Mary Jane was a librarian at the Mascoutah Public Library for 20 years; a member of Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah; and the Mascoutah Garden Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley L. “Slats” Siebe whom she married in St. Louis, MO on Mar. 5, 1941 and who died Oct. 3, 1992; a son, Gerald Siebe; her parents, Joseph and Emma, nee Dornbach, Schwalb; two sisters, Virginia Dittmann, and Eleanor Schlichter; three brothers, William, Joseph, and John Schwalb.
She is survived by four children, JoAnn (James) Clemens of Millstadt, IL, Mary Ellen (William) Cissell of Shady Shores, TX, Jan Siebe of Fayetteville, IL, and Dan (Julie) Siebe of Mascoutah, IL; six grandchildren, Andrew (Angela) Clemens, David (Rachael) Clemens, Karen (Jared) Johnson, Lisa (John) Kelly, and Jordan and Nicole Siebe; eight great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Peter, and Gideon Johnson; Adina, Alaina, Analise, and Linden Clemens; and Lyla Kelly; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Mascoutah Public Library; or Holy Childhood Catholic School.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM Friday, May 10, 2013 at the Moll Funeral Home, Mascoutah, IL.
Funeral: A funeral Mass will be held 10 AM Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah with Msgr. Jerome Hartlein officiating. Burial will be in Mascoutah City Cemetery, Mascoutah, IL.
