Henrietta A. Stukenberg

November 11, 1915 — March 27, 2013

Henrietta A. Stukenberg, nee Fonke, 97, of Aviston, IL formerly of Mascoutah, IL, born Nov. 11, 1915 in Breese, IL, died Wednesday, Mar. 27, 2013 at Aviston Country Side Manor, Aviston, IL.

Henrietta was a homemaker and a retired seamstress from Martha Manning Dress Factory where she worked for 20 years. She was a member of Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah, HCCCW; past member of the Mascoutah Garden Club, and was a volunteer for several local organizations.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Teresa, nee Weh, Fonke; her husband, Elmer V. Stukenberg whom she married in Breese, IL on May 14, 1941 and who died Dec. 28, 1993; a son, Daniel Stukenberg; daughter-in-law, Kathy Stukenberg; a sister, Marie Tonnies; and four brothers, Clarence, Wallace, Ralph, and Vincent Fonke.

Henrietta is survived by a daughter, Carole (Ronald) Foppe of Jamestown, IL, two sons, Michael (Karen) Stukenberg of Mascoutah, IL, and James (Gail) Stukenberg of Highland, IL; a daughter-in-law, Billie Stukenberg of Mascoutah, IL; seventeen grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Belle, Delores, and Helen Fonke; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of all other gifts memorials may be made to Holy Childhood School Endowment Fund.


Visitation: will be held from 9 to 11 AM Monday, Apr. 1, 2013 at Holy Childhood Catholic Church, Mascoutah, IL.

Funeral: a funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM Monday, Apr. 1, 2013 at Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah with Father Elmar Mauer, OMI officiating. Burial will be in St. Bernard’s Catholic Cemetery, Albers, IL.
