Theda D. Knipp

Theda D. Knipp, nee Brower, 94, of Mascoutah, IL, born April 21, 1918 in Staunton, IL, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013 at Terrace on the Park in Mascoutah, IL.

Theda was a clerk for the former Wolters Jewelry in Mascoutah; a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Mascoutah; the Afternoon Guild; and the Red Hat Ladies. She enjoyed playing the piano at the nursing homes in Mascoutah; playing in the Mascoutah Kitchen Band; and especially enjoyed dancing with her husband Roy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John E. and Nellie, nee Berry, Brower; her husband, Roy G. Knipp, whom she married on Feb. 6, 1936 in St. Louis, MO and who died Oct. 6, 2001; a brother, John E. Brower; and two sisters, Edith Stewart, and Anna Dee Schaefer.

She is survived by a son, Paul (Carrie) Knipp of Mascoutah; a daughter, Diane Knipp of Mascoutah; four grandchildren, Steve (Connie) Knipp of Mascoutah; Mike Knipp of Fairview Heights; Van (Shelia) Roehrig of Mascoutah, and Debra Roehrig of Mascoutah; eight great-grandchildren, Jacob (Katie) Knipp of Mascoutah, Jordan Knipp of Mascoutah, Taylor Knipp of Belleville, Rachael (Mike) Bush of Mascoutah, Jason, Matthew, and Alison Roehrig of Mascoutah, and Molly Taylor of Mascoutah; four great great-grandchildren, Kara Rose and Connor Knipp, Bradley Bush, and Trey Taylor; two sisters, Lela Glaeser of Mascoutah, and Frances Bomberger of Pratt, KS; nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM Friday, Feb. 15, 2013 at the Moll Funeral Home, Mascoutah, IL; and from 9 to 10 AM Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013 at St. John United Church of Christ, Mascoutah, IL.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held 10 AM Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013 at St. John United Church of Christ with the Rev. Hugh Fitz officiating. Burial will be in Mascoutah City Cemetery, Mascoutah, IL.
