Jean B. Waller, 77, of Smithton, IL, formerly of Mascoutah, IL, born Jan. 24, 1935 in Lively Grove, IL, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012 at his residence.
Jean owned and operated Waller Produce in Mascoutah for 40 years, and after he retired he worked as a security guard for Regions Operation Center in Belleville, IL for 11 years. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Smithton, IL; former member of Holy Childhood Catholic Church, Mascoutah, IL; and member of the K of C Council 4380, Mascoutah, IL.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Angela, nee Behrmann, Waller; a sister, Rita in infancy; two brothers-in-law, Marvin Sproston, and Norman Wilmsmeyer; a sister-in-law, Sharon Waller; and mother-in-law and father-in-law,
Erwin and Esther, nee Brinkman, Wilmsmeyer.
Jean is survived by his wife, Jane E., nee Wilmsmeyer, Waller who he married at Holy Childhood Church in Mascoutah on June 16, 1954; three children, Daniel Waller of Panama City Beach, FL; Diane (Charles) Lauersdorf of Iron Mountain, MI, and Jeanine Armstrong of Smithton, IL; six grandchildren, Brian Renth, Duane Renth, Chandra Waller, Jason Armstrong and dear friend Samantha Faarup, Quinn Johnson, and Christopher Johnson; two step-grandchildren, Carla Barnum and Tanya (Tony) Conaway; two great-grandchildren, Ashton Waller and Nathan Johnson; a brother, Thomas Waller of Jacksonville, FL; three sisters, Laurene Sproston of Yorktown, VA, Carol (John) Carrigan of Lively Grove, IL, and Ruth Ann (Louis) Gale of Lively Grove, IL; a sister-in-law, Sharon Wilmsmeyer of O’Fallon, IL; nieces, nephews, and aunts.
Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Assn., or to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
Visitation: visitation will be held from 4 to 8 PM Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012 at the Moll Funeral Home, Mascoutah, IL. A prayer service will be held at 4 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
Funeral: A funeral Mass will be held 10 AM Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012 at the Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah with Father Stan Konieczny officiating. Cremation will be held after the funeral Mass.
