Robert Joseph Connolly

Robert Joseph Connolly, surrounded by his loving family, passed peacefully into God´s Kingdom on Nov. 12, 2012 at his home. Bob lived his exceptional life in service to his family and friends, for which they are forever grateful.

Bob worked for A.G. Edwards (Wells Fargo) as an estate tax planner in the Private Client Services division. Prior to that, he practiced law in Mascoutah, IL as a partner with the firm Schroeder, Schroeder & Connolly. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1974 - 1978, reaching the rank of Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy Reserve.

Bob was born on Aug. 2, 1951 on Marine Corps Base Quantico to Robert and Gladys Connolly. He graduated from Mascoutah Community High School, the University of Missouri at Columbia, and the University of Tulsa College of Law. After private law practice, Bob focused on building on his estate tax expertise and obtained a certification to work as a Certified Financial Planner (CFP). He served as the President of the Mascoutah Chamber of Commerce and the President of the Shiloh United Methodist Church Administrative Council.

Bob devoted his life and energy to caring for his wife and two children, who will forever be thankful for his sacrifices and gifts. He will be missed dearly, and we hope to live in a way that will make him proud. Our love for him will perpetuate into eternity, as we are forever blessed that we shared our lives with the most wonderful person we know.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys Connolly and his father-in-law, Meryl T. Schroeder.

Bob is survived by his wife, Kay Ann Schroeder Connolly of Mascoutah, IL, his son Ryan (Meilani) Connolly of San Francisco, and their two sons, Christopher and Timothy, and his daughter Kristin Connolly of Chicago; his father, Robert T. Connolly of Alexandria, VA; his brother Brian (Kim) Connolly of Charlottesville, VA, and their sons Sean and Trevor; his sister Doreen (John) Chendorain of Alexandria, VA and their daughter Samantha; his sister Cheryl (Kevin) Simpson of Manassas, VA, and their daughters Mandy and Alyson; his mother-in-law, Patricia Schroeder of Mascoutah, IL; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kent and Mary Schroeder of Mascoutah, IL, and their sons Matt (Jiyeon) Schroeder and their daughter Hana, and Greg Schroeder.

Visitation: visitation is from 5 to 7pm Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL and also from 10 to 11am on Friday Nov. 16, 2012 at the Shiloh United Methodist Church in Shiloh, IL.

Funeral: A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM Friday, Nov. 16, 2012 at the Shiloh United Methodist Church in Shiloh with Rev. Dr. Beverly L. Wilkes Null officiating. Interment will follow in Mascoutah City Cemetery.
