Maysel Inez Flamuth Goss, nee Scott, 90, of Lincoln, NE, formerly of Mascoutah, IL, born Mar. 15, 1922 in Victoria, MO, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012.
Maysel graduated from DeSoto High School. She was a retired secretary for the Mascoutah School District. She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ and the Women’s Guild in Mascoutah, IL; Women of the Moose Chapter 392; and DAR Silver Creek Chapter. Maysel loved her family, friends and God. She enjoyed visiting with people and catching up on the news, she worked the crossword puzzle daily, and loved music and singing in the choir. Maysel was a loving, wonderful mother and grandmother, and we thank God for her 90 years with us.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Colby Newton and Estella Elsie (Treft) Scott; her first husband, Robert Paul Flamuth, who she married in DeSoto, MO on Oct. 12, 1941, and who died Oct. 10, 1966; her second husband Milton Goss, who she married in Mascoutah, IL on Dec. 16, 1967, and who died June 17, 1989; brothers, Everett and Harold Scott; brothers-in-law, Vincent Coleman, Leonard Pranger, Forrest Flamuth, Vermont Flamuth; sisters-in-law, Corrine Flamuth, Ellen Pranger, Florence Flamuth; stepson, James Goss; and nephew, Michael Coleman.
Maysel is survived by her daughter, Judith Ann Flamuth Schmidt; grandchildren, Tina Schmidt (Rick) Reeble, Eric Schmidt, Arthur Schmidt IV; great grandchildren, Chloe, Zachary and Rory Reeble; son-in-law, Arthur Schmidt III; stepson, Jon (Janet) Goss; grandchildren John (Mary) Goss, Jr., Jean (Cordell) Whitebird, Jeff (Melissa) Goss; great grandchildren, Matthew, Adam and Austin Goss; step-daughter-in-law, Jalane Goss; grandchildren, Yvonne (Don) Williams, Paula (Jeff) Buritsch, Edward (Rhoda) Goss, Robert (Amanda) Goss; great grandchildren, Tiffany and Teresa Williams, Jenny, Michelle, and Jeff Buritsch, and Kendra Goss; sister, Betty Coleman; sisters-in-law, Mary C. Hammond, June Lucas, and Bess Flamuth; nieces, nephews and families, David Flamuth, Connie Portel, Sherry Vogt, Victoria Martin, Colby Scott, Vincent Coleman, Ellen Frazier, and Kitty Dixon.

Visitation: visitation will be from 9 to 11 AM Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012 at St. John United Church of Christ in Mascoutah, IL.
Funeral Service: funeral service will be held 11 AM Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012 at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Mascoutah with the Rev. Hugh Fitz officiating. Private burial will be held in Mascoutah City Cemetery.
