Roger D. Scroggins, 55, of Mascoutah, IL, born March 17, 1957 in East St. Louis, IL, died Monday Sept. 10, 2012, at his residence.
He was a facilities engineer at St. Clare Catholic School in O’Fallon, IL; retired from the U. S. Air Force; and a veteran of Desert Storm. He was a former baseball and hockey coach at Mascoutah and Scott AFB; former member of the Big Brothers and Big Sisters Program; and a member of the 932nd CES of the U. S. Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his parents, A. D. and Carolyn, nee Cook, Scroggins; step-mother, Violet Scroggins, and a brother, Harry Scroggins.
He is survived by his wife Debbie, nee Schanz, Scroggins; a son, Shawn (Elisha Brown) Beach of Collinsville, IL; a granddaughter, Caelan Beach; two brothers, Danny (Terri) Scroggins of St. Louis, MO, and David Scroggins of Orlando, FL; a sister, Amber Scroggins of Arkansas; a step-brother, Phillip (Nancy) Portwood of De Soto, MO; two step-sisters, Deborah (Howard) Adamson of Cahokia, IL, and Yonia (Carl) Coffman of Pontoon Beach, IL; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Assn., or to St. Clair Catholic School, 214 West 3rd St., O'Fallon, IL 62269.
Visitation: friends may call from 4 to 8 PM Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.
Funeral: funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday Sept. 14, 2012 at Moll Funeral Home, Mascoutah, IL with Fr. Bill Hitpas officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Childhood Catholic Cemetery in Mascoutah, IL.
