Robert L. Haege, 92, of Mascoutah, IL, born May 22, 1920 at New Memphis Station, IL, died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012 at the MarKa Nursing Home in Mascoutah, IL.

After graduation from Mascoutah High School, Bob attended Rankin School and then worked at Curtis Wright. He joined the Marine Corps and served in the Pacific during WW II. After returning to the States, he was stationed at Parris Island, SC and Cherry Point, NC. He married Muriel Olliges on Mar. 4, 1945 in Beaufort, SC. Following discharge from the Marines Corps, Bob returned to Mascoutah and worked for Postel Milling Company, Morley Foundry, and then became an electrician for Graul Electric. He continued electrical work as a member of IBEW 309 until he retired in 1985.

He is a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Mascoutah; Mascoutah American Legion Post 292; life member of the Mascoutah VFW Post 7682; past Master of Mascoutah Douglas Lodge 361; member of the Ainad Shrine; past Patron of the Eastern Star; and retired member of the Mascoutah Volunteer Fire Department.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Frieda, nee Grohs, Haege.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Muriel, nee Olliges, Haege; his son, Randy (Rozanne) Haege; a granddaughter, Nirvina Titleman; a brother, Gene (Joyce) Haege of Mascoutah, IL; a nephew, Dr. Dolph Haege; niece, Judy Polczynski; great niece, Emily; great nephew, Drew; great-great nephew Kieton; cousins, and friends.


Memorials may be made to St. John United Church of Christ; or Mascoutah Volunteer Fire Department; or to any charity of the donor’s choice. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting mollfuneralhome.com.

Visitation: friends may call from 4 to 7 PM Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL. A Masonic service will be held at 6:30 PM Tuesday.

Funeral: memorial services will be held 7 PM Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012 at the funeral home with the Rev. Hugh Fitz officiating. Following cremation, interment will be in Mascoutah City Cemetery.
