Stanley J. Hummert

January 29, 1959 — August 2, 2012

Stanley J. Hummert, 53, of Halifax, VA formerly of St. Libory, IL born Jan. 29, 1959 in Belleville, IL died Aug. 2, 2012 at his residence from complications of Multiple Sclerosis.


He was a machinist, a U.S. Navy veteran and also active with the Boy Scouts of America, serving as a Unit Commissioner for the Dan River District in South Boston, VA.


Per Stanley’s wishes his organs were donated for Multiple Sclerosis research.

“Gone, but never to be forgotten”


He was preceded in death by his parents, Norbert B. and Regina E., nee Kramper, Hummert, his brother-in-law, Dennis E. Behrman and his father-in-law, Stacy E. Stevens.


Surviving are his wife, Karen, nee Brasch, Hummert of Halifax, VA; a son, Micah Hummert of Halifax, VA; a daughter, Jessica Campbell of Halifax, VA; a grandson, Alex Cai of Halifax, VA; seven brothers, Ken (Judy) Hummert of St. Libory, IL, Gerald (Shirley) Hummert of St. Libory, IL, Dave (Pat) Hummert of St. Libory, IL, Leroy (Diane) Hummert of Venedy, IL, Norbert L. (Mary Jane Weidner) Hummert of St. Libory, IL, Dennis (Mary) Hummert of St. Libory, IL, Sidney Hummert of San Francisco, CA; five sisters, Eileen (Bruce Steinkamp) Hart of St. Libory, IL, Helen (Ron) Musenbrock of St. Libory, IL, Nora Jean Schmersahl of Belleville, IL, Donna (Bob Buescher) Hummert of St. Libory, IL, Patricia (Jerry) Funk of Fayetteville, IL; mother-in-law, Frances T. Stevens-Ferguson of Palm Coast, FL; also survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews
and friends.


Memorials may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or Boy Scout Troop 497 or in the form of Masses.


Visitation: Friends may call from 9 to 11 AM Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, at St. Liborius Catholic Church in St. Libory, IL.


Funeral: A memorial mass will be held at 11 AM Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, at St. Liborius Catholic Church with Fr. Dennis Voss and Fr. Stan Konieczny officiating.
