Milton B. Bara

Milton B. Bara, 88, of Mascoutah, IL formerly of South River, NJ, born Nov. 10, 1918 in South River, NJ, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007 at his residence.


Milton was a retired dry cleaner and tailor. He was a captain in the “Flying Tigers” during WWII in the Army Air Corp and a survivor of Pearl Harbor.


He is preceded in death by his wife, Anna, nee Galley, Bara whom he married Dec. 4, 1940 in Cranbury, NJ and who died Sept. 3, 1997, his parents, George and Anna, nee Mazur, Bara, a daughter Joanne in infancy and a son-in-law, David E. Nichols.


He is survived by a daughter, Sue Nichols of Mascoutah, IL, a grandson, David K. Nichols of Mascoutah, IL, a great-grandson, Seth Nichols, and a brother, Chester Bara of South River, NJ.


Memorials may be made to the Mascoutah Memorial Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 80, Mascoutah, IL 62258.


Visitation: The family will receive friends and relatives from 4 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007 at the Moll Funeral Home, Mascoutah, IL.


Funeral: Memorial services will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007 at the funeral home with Rev. Robert Edwards officiating.
