Leonard Luechtefeld

Leonard Luechtefeld, 90, of St. Libory, IL, born Aug. 14, 1917 in St. Libory, IL, died Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville, IL.


Mr. Luechtefeld was a retired farmer, a member of St. Liborius Catholic Church in St. Libory, IL, Knights of Columbus Council 3789, New Athens, IL, and St. Clair County Farm Bureau.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Libory and Anna, nee Terveer, Luechtefeld; a granddaughter, Bridget Luechtefeld; 3 sisters, Sister Florence Luechtefeld OLVM, Gertrude Maes, and Dorothy Luechtefeld; 4 brothers-in-law, Joseph Maes, Gerard Schmidt, James Pajares, and Raphael Lintker.


Mr. Luechtefeld is survived by his wife Mary, nee Lintker, Luechtefeld whom he married in St. Libory, IL on Nov. 20, 1946; 3 sons, Donald (Connie) Luechtefeld of Destin, FL, John Luechtefeld of St. Libory, IL and friend Linda Lehr, Joseph (Cassie) Luechtefeld of St. Libory, IL, a daughter Ann Marie (Tom) Hoffman of Columbia, IL; 10 grandchildren, Laura (Bill) Avery, Lisa (John) DePatie, Lyn (fiancé Jason) Luechtefeld, Sean Luechtefeld, Emily (Dan) Rosenberg, Adam (Cadence) Luechtefeld, Matt Luechtefeld, Michael, Amy and Ryan Hoffman; 3 step-grandchildren, Kristi, Chris and Lindsay Otten; 2 great-grandchildren, Hannah DePatie and Tyler Rosenberg; 3 sisters, Clare Schmidt of Belleville, IL, Rita Pajares of Smithton, IL, Sister Leona Luechtefeld ASC of Belleville, IL, a brother, Ralph (Georgia) Luechtefeld of Belleville, IL; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Robert (LaVerne) Lintker of St. Libory, IL, Andrew (Rosemary) Lintker of St. Libory, IL, Bernadette (Dan) Jansen of Okawville, IL, Rita (Don) Otten of St. Libory, IL, Irma Lintker of St. Libory, IL; and many nieces and nephews.


Memorials may be made to St. Liborius Parish Center Bldg. Fund, St. Liborius Cemetery Fund, or for masses.


Visitation: Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2007 and from 7 to 9:40 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007 at the Moll Funeral Home in St. Libory, IL. A prayer service will be held at 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.


Funeral: A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007 at St. Liborius Catholic Church in St. Libory, IL with Rev. Dennis Voss officiating. Burial will be in
St. Liborius Cemetery.
