James D. Ross, Sr.

James Dennis Ross, Sr., 59, of Mascoutah, IL died Monday, Nov. 05, 2007 at his residence.


J.D. was born Feb. 17, 1948 in Oakland, CA. He was a chef, a Merchant Marine, and Army combat engineer and served in the Viet Nam War.


Mr. Ross is survived by his wife, the former Judith Lynn Wyant, who he married July 15, 1966 in Excellsior Springs, MO and four children, R. Kurt Ross and partner Colin Murphy, O’Fallon, IL; Rian Kenneth Ross and wife Melodi, Oklahoma City, OK; Kendra Pauline Kuhl and husband Scott, O’Fallon, IL; and James Dennis Ross, Jr. and wife Penelope, Mascoutah, IL.


Also surviving are a brother Charles Ross, Kansas City, MO; two sisters-in-law Roberta Ross, Marceline, MO and Glenda Gunn and husband Kenny, New Baden, IL. J.D. leaves behind eight grandchildren, Rian and Kristi Ross, Kendraick Hueffmeier, Alec Kuhl, Aspen and Makayla Ross, and Katrina and Darren Berg.


Mr. Ross was preceded in death by his parents Virgil Kenneth Ross and Maxine Frances Pennick, a son William Troy Ross, a sister Edna Renshaw, and brothers Donald and David Ross.


Graveside services will be held at 11:15 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2007 at the National Cemetery, Jefferson Barracks, MO.
