Beulah Irene Zapp, nee Mathews, 95, of Mascoutah, IL, born Dec. 29, 1912 in Grafton, IL, died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008 at St. Paul’s Nursing Home in Belleville, IL.
Beulah operated the snack bar in the St. Clair County Court House in Belleville, for many years, through the Visually Handicapped Managers of Illinois. She was a member of St. John UCC, Mascoutah, Illinois Council of the Blind, American Council of the Blind, Alumni Association of Illinois School for the Visually Impaired and Handicapped, member and past board member of the Mary Bryant Home for the Blind, Springfield and Peoria Social Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred P. Zapp, whom she married in East St. Louis, IL, Dec. 31, 1935 and who died Nov. 5, 1992, her parents, Thomas and Kate, nee Schneider, Mathews, three sisters, Velma Miller, Chelsea Worsham, and Mabel Shoemaker, a brother, Willard Mathews, a son-in-law, Jack Lamb, a grandson, Kevin Lamb, and a grandson-in-law, Kevin Ettling.
She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Lamb of O’Fallon, IL, two granddaughters, Terri (Charles) Ettling-Shell of O’Fallon, IL and Cheryl (Anthony) New of Riverview, FL, three great-grandchildren, Joshua Ettling and fiancé Lauren Krajicek, Nicholas Ettling and Richele New, nieces, nephews, friends, and special friends, Dorothy Kapplet and JoAnn (Charlton) Sturm.

Funeral: funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008 at Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL with the Rev. Jonathan Hubbard officiating. Burial will be in Mascoutah City Cemetery.
