Anafae W. Schaefer Wilkins

Anafae W. Schaefer Wilkins, 84 of Mascoutah, IL, born Nov. 21, 1923 in Cheraw, CO, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008, at MarKa Nursing Home.


She was a homemaker. After her second husband’s death, Anafae moved to the Mascoutah area to live closer to her daughter. While living at MarKa Nursing Home, she made many close and loving relationships with staff as well as other residents.


She is preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth Schaefer, a Pearl Harbor survivor, her second husband, John Wilkins, her parents, Harry and Emma, nee Mickelson, Wallace, two brothers, Don and Ren Wallace, and a sister, Helen Schaefer.


She is survived by her daughter, Penny Cerny of Granite City, IL, three grandsons, Joe (Linda) Cerny, Doug (Felecia) Cerny and Edward (Brandy) Cerny, 11 great-grandchildren, Andy, Brittney, Kaylee, Maia and Peyton Cerny, Michael, Dustin and Steven Powel, Darnell Miller and Brian and Briana Scott., a great-great-grandchild, Riyan Barnet, and two brothers, Harry (Olive) Wallace and Lee Wallace, both of Cheraw, CO.

Visitation: There will be no visitation.

Funeral: Private services will be held at the National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
