Hope M. Peden

Hope M. Peden, nee McCall, 89, of Shiloh, IL, formerly of Mascoutah, IL, born Feb. 22, 1918 in Humansville, MO, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008 at Rosewood Care Center in Swansea, IL.


Hope was a homemaker, a member of P. E. O. Sisterhood, and the First United Methodist Church of O’Fallon, IL.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. Charles O. “Chuck” Peden, whom she married in Seattle, WA in 1942, and who died Sept. 2, 1991, her parents, Shell and Elda, nee Lamb, McCall, and 3 brothers, Keith, Basil and Sheldon McCall.


She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Fostel of Decatur, TX, a son, Gregory Peden of Shiloh, IL; three grandchildren, Christopher Fostel of Bridgeport, TX, Joshua (Katey) Fostel of Abilene, TX, and Kate (Adam) Gilmore of Frisco, TX; three great-grandchildren, Karly, Laney and Layla Fostel.

Visitation: will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening, January 29, 2008 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.


Funeral: Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008 in Oaklawn Cemetery, Decatur, TX, where burial will take place.
