Leona Eliza Krausz, 86, of Mascoutah, IL, born May 9, 1921 in Lookingglass Township, Clinton Co., IL, died Saturday, Mar. 22, 2008 at the MarKa Nursing Home in Mascoutah, IL.
Leona was a housekeeper, a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Mascoutah, IL, Afternoon Guild, Mascoutah Women of the Moose Chapter 392 for over 40 years, Crossroad Homemakers Extension for over 40 years, and past volunteer cook at the Mascoutah Senior Center for 10 years. She enjoyed playing cards, stitching, and especially looked forward to springtime when she could care for her flowers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Anna, nee Richter, Krausz, four brothers, Edmund, Homer, Oliver, and a brother in infancy, five sisters, Edna Emig, Meta Dickhaut, Laura Krausz, Pearl Heer, and Elsie Krausz.
She is survived by nieces and nephews, Ruth (Virgil) Mattern of Mascoutah, IL, Roy (Barbara) Emig of Mascoutah, IL, Robert (Shirley) Dickhaut of Mascoutah, IL, Darlene (Jon) Neil of St. Louis, MO, Karen (Doug) Koschel of Fairborn, GA, Janika Heer of Hawaii, Sandra (Paul) Biver of Belleville, IL; great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.
Memorials may be made to St. John United Church of Christ, or to Heartland Hospice.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Mar. 24, 2008 at the Moll Funeral Home, Mascoutah, IL, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, Mar. 25, 2008 at St. John United Church of Christ, Mascoutah, IL. A Women of the Moose Ritual will be held 4:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Mar. 25, 2008 at St. John United Church of Christ in Mascoutah, IL with the Rev. Hugh Fitz officiating. Burial will be in Mascoutah City Cemetery.
