Dorothy M. Williams, nee Coppotelli, 86, of Mascoutah, Ill., born May 10,
1922 in E. St. Louis, Ill., died Sunday June 8, 2008 at the MarKa Nursing Center in Mascoutah, Ill.
Dorothy was a retired GS-12 Budget Analyst with 28 years serving the United States Air Force and a former tax preparer for H & R Block. She was still an active Genealogist with an advanced German Genealogy Research Certificate from Brigham Young University. Her efforts certified her son as a member of the General Society of Mayflower Descendants and The National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution – Illinois Society.
Dorothy was an avid card player with her friends at PSOP. She was also a member and past president of the Federated Belleville Business & Professional Women’s Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene F. Williams on August 11, 1970, whom she married Feb. 17, 1943, her parents, Felippo (Phillip) J. and Jeannette K., nee Freiberg, Coppotelli, a brother Edward M. Coppotelli, and a sister Frances Coppotelli.
She is survived by a son, Richard E. (Kathy) Williams of Mascoutah, Ill.; three grandchildren, Leslie (Tracey) Cooley, Carrie (John) Ross and Michael Williams; six great grandchildren; Dean, Sarah, Lauren, Sienna, Brock, and Tyler.
Visitation: In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated and there will be no services or visitation. She will be buried at Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Belleville, Ill.
