Dorothy M. Diecker

Dorothy M. Diecker, nee Harwerth, 82, of St. Libory, IL, born Dec. 19, 1925 in St. Libory, IL, died Friday, June 20, 2008 at the MarKa Community Care Center in Mascoutah, IL.


She was a homemaker, a member of St. Liborius Catholic Church, and an avid quilter and card player.


She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph J. Diecker whom she married in St. Libory, IL on Oct. 9, 1946 and who died on Jan. 19, 1980, her parents, George and Elizabeth, nee Rothluebbers, Harwerth, a son, Richard Diecker, son-in-law, Merlan Triefenbach, seven brothers, and a sister.


She is survived by seven children, Marie Maupin of Belleville, IL, James (Kristin) Diecker of Kennewick, WA, David (Belinda) Diecker of Marissa, IL, Ruth Ann Triefenbach of Marissa, IL, Karen (Dean) Haselhorst of Trenton, IL, Charles (Kim) Diecker of Waterloo, IL, and Ron (Jodi) Diecker of Freeburg, IL; a daughter-in-law, Marsha Diecker of Hecker, IL; 20 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, a great great-grandson, and numerous nieces and nephews.


Memorials may be made in the form of masses, or to the American Cancer Society.


Visitation: friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday, June 23, 2008 at the Moll Funeral Home in St. Libory, IL. A prayer service will be held at 6 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.


Funeral: A funeral mass will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at St. Liborius Catholic Church in St. Libory, IL with Rev. Dennis Voss officiating. Burial will be in St. Liborius Catholic Cemetery.
