Daniel H. Stukenberg, 63, of Mascoutah, IL, born Nov. 3, 1944 in St. Louis, MO, died Thursday, July 31, 2008 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Belleville, IL after a yearlong courageous battle with cancer.
Dan was a member of Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah; member of the Mascoutah School District 19 School Board for the past 14 years; a charter member of the Mascoutah Investment Club; Chairman of the Infrastructure Committee and also a member of the Economic Development Committee for the City of Mascoutah; member of the Mascoutah Moose Lodge #815; and former Scout Master for Mascoutah Troop 57.
He was president and owner of DMS Contracting, Inc. in Mascoutah. Prior to that he was employed by Baxmeyer Construction, Inc. of Waterloo, The Kilian Corp. of Mascoutah, the Illinois Dept. of Transportation, and the St. Clair County Highway Dept.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer V. Stukenberg, and a sister-in-law, Kathy Stukenberg.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Billie, nee Mueller, Stukenberg whom he married in Mascoutah, IL on May 4, 1968; five children, Jane (Scott) Winders of Springfield, IL, David (Jenny) Stukenberg of Edwardsville, IL, Nancy (Jeff) Seibert of Mascoutah, IL, Anne (Kevin) Davis of Breese, IL, and Matthew Stukenberg of Mascoutah, IL; his mother, Henrietta, nee Fonke, Stukenberg of Aviston, IL; eight grandchildren, Hannah and Logan Winders, Ethan and Gavin Stukenberg, William and Jack Seibert, and Emma and Cole Davis; a sister, Carole (Ron) Foppe of Breese, IL; two brothers, Mike (Karen) Stukenberg of Mascoutah, IL, and James (Gail) Stukenberg of Highland, IL; nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 4, 2008 and from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008 at Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.
Funeral: A funeral mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008 at Holy Childhood Catholic Church, Mascoutah, IL, with Monsignor Jerome Hartlein officiating. Burial will be in Holy Childhood Catholic Cemetery, Mascoutah, IL.
