Leo A. Greten

Leo A. Greten, 78, of Lively Grove, IL, born Dec. 10, 1929 in Lively Grove Township, IL, died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008 at his residence.


Leo was a retired farmer, a lifetime member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Lively Grove, IL, and member of the Washington County Farm Bureau.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Theresa, nee Buss, Greten,
and two sisters, Josephine Schmersahl and Marie Behrman.


He is survived by six brothers Joseph Greten and Anthony Greten of Lively Grove, IL, Gilbert Greten of New Athens, IL, Lambert (Carolyn) Greten of Fairview Heights, IL, Urban (Mary Ann) Greten of St. Libory, IL, and Jerome (Pat) Greten of Marissa, IL; a sister, Rita Pour of New Athens, IL; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.


Memorials may be made in the form of masses, or to Alzheimer’s Association.


Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008 at the Moll Funeral Home in St. Libory, IL. A prayer service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.


Funeral: A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 12, 2008 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Lively Grove, IL with Rev. Dennis Voss officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery.
