Dale L. Kinzel, 53, of Freeburg, IL, born Oct. 29, 1954 in Belleville, IL, died Friday, Oct. 10, 2008 on his farm near Freeburg, IL.
Dale farmed all his life on his family farm. He was employed by Peabody Coal Company at the River King Mine for 13 years until it closed, and most recently worked for Wiegmann Electric in Freeburg, IL. He was a 1972 graduate of Mascoutah Community High School; he was a member of the Mascoutah Jaycees and the St. Clair County Farm Bureau.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville “Peewee” and Bernice, nee Funk, Kinzel.
Dale is survived by his wife, Karen, nee Wilhelm, Kinzel whom he married in Mascoutah, IL on Nov. 14, 1975; three children, Keith (Becky) Kinzel of Freeburg, IL, Ryan (Kari) Kinzel of Freeburg, IL, and Kara Kinzel of St. Louis, MO; three grandchildren, Livia, Britlyn, and Travis Kinzel; a sister, Diane (Tom) Brendel of Belleville, IL; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leo and Alice Wilhelm of Mascoutah, IL; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
It was Dale’s wishes that his grandchildren receive a good education; therefore, memorials may be made to Kinzel Grandchildren Education Fund, c/o First Federal Savings Bank, 101 W. Main St., Mascoutah, IL 62258.
Visitation: friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday, Oct. 13, 2008 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.
Funeral: a funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Freeburg, IL with Father Mark Reyling officiating. Burial will be in Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, IL.
