David L. Haas

David L. Haas, 46, of Mascoutah, IL, born Sept. 1, 1962 in Belleville, IL, died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2008 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO.


David was a school bus driver for Mascoutah School District #19, a member of Holy Childhood Catholic Church, Mascoutah, Moose Lodge #815, Mascoutah and the 700 Club, Mascoutah.


He was preceded in death by his father, Norbert F. “Shorty” Haas, his maternal grandparents, William and Grace, nee Mangold, Harrison, his paternal grandparents, Xavier and Catherine, nee Laquet, Haas, a brother-in-law, Danny Malear and aunts, uncles and cousins.


He is survived by his mother, Rebecca “Fran” Haas, nee Harrison, of Mascoutah, IL; a sister, Laura Malear of Mascoutah, IL; two nieces, Renee Haas and Amanda Malear of Mascoutah, IL; a great-niece, Elizabeth Haas; an uncle, Leroy Haas of Lebanon, IL; two aunts, Lucille (William) Stratz of Red Bank, NJ and Shirley Rongey of O’Fallon, IL


Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.


Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, 2008 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL. A prayer service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.


Funeral: A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008 at Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah, IL with Msgr. Jerome Hartlein officiating. Burial will be in Holy Childhood Catholic Cemetery.
