Estelle A. Hoercher, nee Fochtmann, 95, of Mascoutah, IL, born Feb. 26, 1913 in New Baden, IL, died Monday, Nov. 24, 2008 at her daughter’s residence in Mascoutah, IL.
Estelle was a homemaker, and also was a cafeteria worker for Mascoutah School District #19. She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Mascoutah; a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 7682 in Mascoutah since 1960; and a member of the Rebekah Lodge 145 I.O.O.F. in Lebanon since 1933.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl H. “Sugar” Hoercher, whom she married in Murphysboro, IL on July 18, 1932, and who died on Sept. 29, 1996; her parents, Herman and Lena, nee Reis, Fochtmann; a daughter, Charlotte Richter; a son-in-law, Charles Richter, a brother, Erwin Fochtmann; a sister, Irene Zotz; a brother-in-law, Gus Zotz; and a sister-in-law, Thera Fochtmann.
She is survived by a son, Paul (Linda) Hoercher of Mascoutah, IL; a daughter, Donna (Paul) Zimmermann of Mascoutah, IL; seven grandchildren, Michael (Linda) Richter of Mascoutah, IL, Jeff (Joyce) Richter of Bradenton, FL, Christine Hoercher and friend Gareth Tiemann of Addieville, IL, Paul (Patricia) Hoercher, Jr. of Mascoutah, IL, Holly Hoercher, Tammy, nee Zimmermann, and Shane Smothers of Beckemeyer, IL, and Brian Zimmermann of Mascoutah, IL; 10 great-grandchildren, Erin and Bradley Richter of Mascoutah, IL, Adam (Jennifer) Richter, and Craig Richter all of Bradenton, FL, Amber Kehrer of Belleville, IL, Nathanial Tiemann of Addieville, IL, Sydney Hoercher of Mascoutah, IL, Tayler, Elizabeth, and Karleigh Kaspar of Mascoutah, IL; three great great-grandchildren, Riley Beall and Ashton Richter of Bradenton, FL, and Isaiah Siemer of Belleville, IL; a brother-in-law, Loren “Woody” Hoercher of Newport News, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, the American Diabetes Assn., or to Family Hospice.
Visitation: friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, 2008 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.
Funeral: a memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL with the Rev. Joseph Feldmann officiating. Burial will be in Mascoutah City Cemetery.
