Violet M. Hesker

Violet M. Hesker, nee Emmerich, 92, of Mascoutah, IL, born Feb. 16, 1916 in New Memphis, IL, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008 at the MarKa Nursing Home in Mascoutah, IL.


Violet was former owner and operator of Midtown Floral in Mascoutah; a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Mascoutah; charter member of Zonta Club of Mascoutah, and a member of the Mascoutah Women of the Moose Chapter 392.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer H. Hesker on Aug. 10, 1993, her parents, George and Louise, nee Johnson, Emmerich; twins, John and Jane in infancy; a son-in-law Ted Stumpf; two brothers, Wilmer and Roland Emmerich; and three sisters, Katherine Emmerich, Edna Bischoff, and Esther Emmerich.


She is survived by three sons, Richard (Charlene) Hesker of Mascoutah, IL, Charles Hesker of St. Libory, IL, and James Hesker of Mascoutah, IL; three daughters, Carolyn Stumpf of Mascoutah, IL, Kathleen (Gary) Haas of Shiloh, IL, and Donna (Jack) Goepfert of Belleville, IL; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Sophie Emmerich of Mascoutah, IL, and Ella Emmerich of Colorado Springs, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews.


Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice or St. John United Church of Christ.


Visitation: friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, 2008 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 1, 2008 at St. John United Church of Christ in Mascoutah, IL.


Funeral: funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 1, 2008 at St. John United Church of Christ in Mascoutah, IL with the Rev. Hugh Fitz officiating. Burial will be in Mascoutah City Cemetery.
