Douglas A. Mitchell, 56, of Mascoutah, IL, born March 21, 1956 in Tucson, AZ, died Monday, June 18, 2012 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Belleville, IL.
Douglas worked at Sigma Chemicals in St. Louis as a computer analyst; was also a registered nurse; a member of Faith Lutheran Church, O’Fallon, IL; and member of American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
He was preceded in death by parents, Albert and Clara E., nee West, Mitchell.
He is survived by his wife, Gerri D., nee Grayson, Mitchell, who he married in O’Fallon, IL on Sept. 25, 2004; two children, Arthur (friend Bailey Bauza) Benfield of Mascoutah, IL, and Katlyn Benfield of Mascoutah, IL; his baby girl, “Kiefer”; a brother, Don (Sharon) Mitchell of Plano, IL; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harold and Catherine Cheney of Mascoutah, IL; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Sandy (Victor) Henley of St. Libory, IL, Ray (Jennifer) Grayson of Mascoutah, IL, and Roy (friend Theresa Bindrim) Grayson of Mascoutah, IL; two cousins, Linda Green and Lynn Carr; nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM Thursday, June 21, 2012 and from 9 to 10 AM Friday, June 22, 2012 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Friday, June 22, 2012 at Moll Funeral Home with the Rev. Freda A. Snyder officiating. Burial will be in Mascoutah City Cemetery.
