Oliver L. C. “Sonny” Biebel, 69, of Mascoutah, IL, born Jan. 13, 1940 in Mascoutah Township, IL, died Tuesday, Mar. 31, 2009 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Belleville, IL.


Sonny was a lifelong farmer and member of Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver J. C. and Marie T., nee Rapp, Biebel.


He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou, nee Winkeler, Biebel whom he married in Bartelso, IL on Feb. 24, 1968; eight children, Susan Biebel, Sandi (Shane) Wilson, Richard (Kim) Biebel, Shirley (David) Ohl, Sherri Biebel, Robert Biebel all of Mascoutah, IL, Sharon (Lee) Berry of Angier, NC, and Ralph (Jennifer) Biebel of Damiansville, IL; seven grandchildren, Tyler and Andrew Berry, Kyle and Jacob Ohl, Matthew and Trent Wilson, and Emily Biebel; brother-in-law, George (Harriett) Winkeler of St. Peters, MO; and numerous cousins.


Memorials may be made in the form of masses or to the family’s choice.


Visitation: friends may call from 4:00 to 9:00 PM Friday, April 3, 2009 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL. A prayer service will be held 4:30 PM Friday at the funeral home.


Funeral: a funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, April 4, 2009 at Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah with Msgr. Jerome Hartlein officiating. Burial will be in Holy Childhood Catholic Cemetery, Mascoutah, IL.
