David A. Morgan, 68, of Mascoutah, IL, died unexpectedly Tuesday, April 7.
A Mascoutah resident since 1987, Dave was born in Chicago, IL, on May 1, 1940. He was president of The Morgan Co., a company that he and his wife, Lynne, founded in 1979. Their business took them throughout the Midwest to exhibit their collectibles and collector supplies. Prior to moving to Mascoutah, Dave lived in St. Charles, MO; Oconomowoc, WI and Chicago, IL.
A man of many talents and extensive knowledge, Dave graduated from Niles Township High School in 1958 and attended Beloit College before being drafted into the Army in 1963 to serve three years as a Military Intelligence Specialist.
Survivors include Dave’s wife, Lynne; son, James, of Belleville, IL; daughter, Deborah, of Oak Park, IL; son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Amy of Houston, TX; and sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Gary Crain of Cooper, FL.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 10, at Moll Funeral Home, Mascoutah, IL, from 4 to 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held May 9, 2009 in the Chicago, IL area. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in memory of David Morgan be made to Shriners Hospital, 2001 South Lindbergh Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63131 or Special Olympics Illinois, 1318 Mercantile Dr., Highland, IL 62249.
