Saundra Sue Torbush

Saundra Sue Torbush, nee Hobbs, 65, of Mascoutah, IL, born Oct. 10, 1943 in Osaka, VA, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2009 at her home.


To all who knew her she was a loving wife, caring mother and grandmother, and a dear friend. Her kids, grandkids and husband were her life.


Besides being a homemaker and before she retired, Sue worked for the Sav-A-Lot Grocery Store in Mascoutah, then for Dr. Lesko in Belleville, and most recently for BJC Oncology in Belleville before it closed.


She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Hobbs.


She is survived by her husband of 41 years, David G. “Bubba” Torbush whom she married in Charleston, SC on Sept. 28, 1967; her mother, Margaret Hobbs, nee Davidson of Appalachia, VA; two daughters, Tracie (Joe) Bauer of O’Fallon, IL, and Alicia (Danny) Bauer of Mascoutah, IL; six grandchildren, Craig Piazza, Camden, Payton, Christopher, Cody, and Carson Bauer; a sister, Teresa (Roy) Moore of Atlanta, GA; four brothers, Charles (Billie) Hobbs of Atlanta, GA, Doug (Brenda) Hobbs of Hopewell, VA, Jimmy (Sue) Hobbs of Lincoln, AL, and Randy (Karen) Hobbs of Roanoke Rapids, NC; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby (Sue) Torbush of Soddy Daisy, TN, and Mary Lee (Larry) Hendren of Mooresville, NC; numerous nieces and nephews.


In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.


Visitation: Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:30 PM Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.


Funeral: Following the visitation a memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Moll Funeral Home.
