Chester L. Hill, 90, of House Springs, MO, formerly of this area, was born January 8, 1919 in Chance, KY, and he died Sunday, June 14, 2009 at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis, MO.
Chester was retired from 3M Company, former member of the Mascoutah Moose Lodge #815, and a WWII and Korean War Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth H., nee Bergheger, Hill, whom he married at Scott AFB, IL on August 10, 1947 and who died in Jan. 2, 1996; his parents, Elic and Katie, nee Coomer, Hill; and a sister, Rosie Loy.
He is survived by a son, Gary L. (Julie) Hill of House Springs, MO; two grandsons, Gary L. (Teena) Hill, Jr. of Shiloh, IL, and Dion (Katherine) Hill of Lockport, IL; five great- granddaughters, Cassandra, Gabriel, Alexandra, Kayla, and Cheyenne Hill; two brothers, Airy (Estelene) Hill of Jamestown, KY, Thomas (Earlene) Hill of Knoxville, TN; five sisters, Ruby Spicer of North Vernon, IN, Hazel (Roy) Neal of Kankakee, IL, Matrie (Jerry) Roach of Bridgeview, IL, Flossie Garmon of Columbia, KY, and Cecile (Kendall) Harvey of Columbia, KY; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: friends may call from 4 to 9 PM Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.
Funeral: a funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at Moll Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Spratte officiating. Burial will be in Mascoutah City Cemetery, Mascoutah, IL.
