Ellen M. Perrottet

Ellen M. Perrottet, nee Eberlein, 97, of Bedford, TX, formerly of Mascoutah, IL, affectionately known as "G G", passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at a local nursing center in Bedford, TX.


Ellen was born May 3, 1912 in Mascoutah, Illinois. She was a 1930 graduate of Mascoutah Community High School and member of St. John United Church of Christ in Mascoutah. She married Leroy Perrottet in 1932 and together they owned and operated Perrottet Shoes and Men's Wear on Main Street for over 30 years, a business built by her family in the late 1800's. On retirement from the business, her husband served on the City Council and as Mayor of Mascoutah for 16 years. Ellen participated in numerous community organizations during that time. After her husband passed away in 1994, Ellen moved to Texas to be near her daughter and her family. She was a resident of Meadow Lakes Retirement Center for 12 years where she enjoyed dominoes and card games. She especially enjoyed her time with family.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Anna, nee Bertholdt, Eberlein; husband, Leroy Perrottet, and great grandson, Tyler J. Davis.


Survivors include a daughter, Peggy, and husband Jim Davis of Bedford, TX; grandsons, Eric Davis and wife Theresa and Kurt Davis and wife Laura, all of McKinney, TX; six great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.


Memorials may be made to any charity of the donor’s choice.


Visitation: visitation will be held from 10 am to noon on Monday, Sept. 21, 2009 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.


Graveside Service: a graveside service and burial will be held at 12:15 pm on Monday at the Mascoutah City Cemetery with the Rev. Hugh Fitz officiating.
