Benjamin A. Krausz

Ben Krausz, 21, of Mascoutah, IL, born Dec. 3, 1987 in Breese, IL, died Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009 in Shiloh Valley Township, IL.


Ben’s passion was his music and he was gifted with a great talent. His young life revolved around his music, his friends, and his family. He could never have too many bass guitars, and he could play music with anyone. He had many wonderful friends. He was funny, kind, considerate and wonderfully laid back. Everything was fine with Ben.


In addition to being a musician, Ben was also a student at SIU-Edwardsville, employed by South Side Auto Body in Mascoutah and B & G Music in Belleville and a member of the American Federation of Musicians #175.


He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Donald Krausz and John (Helen) Davis.


He is survived by his father and step-mother, Daniel (Lisa) Krausz of Mascoutah, IL, his mother and step-father, Barbara (Larry) Draper of Belleville, IL; a sister, JaneAnne (Gene) Holten of Mascoutah, IL; a step-brother, Eric Moll of Mascoutah, IL; a nephew, Chase Holten; paternal grandparents, Mary Lou (Clarence) Richards of Mascoutah, IL, maternal step-grandmother, Dorothy Juenger of New Athens, IL; also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and special cousin, Alex.


In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Chase Holten College Education Fund, c/o First Federal Savings Bank, 101 West Main St., Mascoutah, IL 62258.


Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 9 PM Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009 and from 7:30 to 9:45 AM Wednesday, Oct. 7 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.


Funeral: A funeral mass will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009 at St. Luke’s Church, Belleville, IL. Burial will be at a later date in Holy Childhood Catholic Cemetery, Mascoutah, IL, following cremation.
