Glenn C. Lautenschlaeger, 88, of Okawville, IL formerly of Mascoutah, IL, born Aug. 12, 1921 in Engelmann Township, IL died Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009 at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.
Glenn was a retired grain and livestock farmer. He was a WW II Army veteran of the D-Day invasion and the Battle of the Bulge earning the Purple Heart with the Oak Leaf Cluster. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Okawville, life member of the American Legion Post 292, Mascoutah, life member of V.F.W. Post 7983, Trenton, life member of DAV Chapter 100, Trenton, life member of the Purple Heart Chapter 159, Springfield, IL, life member of Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge Gateway Chapter 12, St. Louis, MO, St. Clair County Farm Bureau and Golden Age, FFA Alumni, Moose Lodge 815, Mascoutah, Okawville Community Club and charter member of Mascoutah Historical Society.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Anita, nee Seibert, Lautenschlaeger, two brothers, Warren and Carl, in infancy, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and nephews.
He is survived by his wife, Frances A., nee Lanter, Lautenschlaeger of Okwaville, IL whom he married in St. Louis, MO at St. Pius Church Nov. 18, 1947, a son, Mark (Cheryl) Lautenschlaeger of Mascoutah, IL; two daughters, Mary (Dennis) Strackeljahn of St. Louis, MO and Ann (Jerry) Huckins of Red Bud, IL; eight grandchildren, Eric, Karen and Adam Strackeljahn, Julie Randle, Linda, Amanda, Martin and Rhonda Lautenschlaeger; a brother, Floyd (Cecilia) Lautenschlaeger of Red Bud, IL; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, 2009 at Moll Funeral Home, Mascoutah, IL and Saturday, Oct. 17 from 9 to 10 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Okawville, IL.
Funeral: A funeral service will be held 10 AM Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Okawville with Rev. Darwin Schrader officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery, New Memphis, IL.
