Don A. Gramm, 78, of Mascoutah, IL, born July 9, 1931 in Engelmann Twp. IL, died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010 at the MarKa Nursing Home in Mascoutah.
He was a retired laborer and hod carrier, a member of Laborers’ International Union of North America Local 742; and past member of the Mascoutah Moose Lodge. Don was an avid gardener; he enjoyed, bowling, fishing, hunting, especially turtles, and was very fond of watching the baseball Cardinals.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Elizabeth, nee Kuklinski, Gramm; and a sister, Kathleen Keller.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth E., nee Sigman, Gramm whom he married in Mascoutah, IL on Jan. 26, 1952; four children, Nancy Gramm, Jo (Darryl) Stein, Susie Gramm, and Scott (Jackie) Gramm all of Mascoutah, IL; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Dorothy) Gramm of Mascoutah, IL; two sisters, Gloria (Herbert) Sigman of Nashville, IL, and Gail Cook of Michigan; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to any Mascoutah Community charity of your choice.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM Friday, Jan. 15, 2010 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.
Funeral: Private funeral services will be held with the Rev. Hugh Fitz officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
