Adeline M. "Della" Luechtefeld

Adeline M. “Della” Luechtefeld, nee Hummert, 86, of St. Libory, IL, born Dec. 7, 1923 in Fayetteville, IL, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010 at the Freeburg Care Center, Freeburg, IL.


Mrs. Luechtefeld was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking for family, camping, travelling around the country, and was an avid card player. She was a member of St. Liborius Catholic Church in St. Libory, and a 34 year member of the St. Libory American Legion Auxiliary.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo J. Luechtefeld whom she married on Apr. 21, 1945 in Clinton, IA, and who died Aug. 2, 1999; her parents, Ben and Anna, nee Brinkman, Hummert; two brothers, Albert and Lawrence Hummert, and a grandson, Travis Luechtefeld.


She is survived by her children, Connie (Jon) Bailey of Pasco, WA, Judy (Stephen) Allen of Kirksville, MO, and Daniel (Sally) Luechtefeld of St. Libory, IL; four grandchildren, Scott Bailey of Grandview, WA, Jason (Chelsea) Luechtefeld of St. Libory, IL, Lauren (Bret) Gramlich of St. Charles, MO, and Richard Allen of Olathe, KS; a great-grandson, Blake Luechtefeld of St. Libory, IL; two brothers, Cletus (Hilda) Hummert of St. Libory, IL, and Edgar (Dora) Hummert of Harlingen, TX.


Memorials may be made to Freeburg Care Center Activities Dept.; or Family Hospice.


Visitation: friends may call from 4 to 8 PM Friday, Feb. 19, 2010 at the Moll Funeral Home in St. Libory, IL. An American Legion Auxiliary service will be held at 6 PM Friday evening at the funeral home.


Funeral: a funeral mass will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010 at St. Liborius Catholic Church in St. Libory, IL with Rev. Dennis Voss officiating. Burial will be in St. Liborius Catholic Cemetery.
